Thanks to all for your helpful comments! Turns out it was a path
specification
written as "C:\xemacs-packages\lisp\idlwave" where it should be
"C:\\xeamcs-packages\\lisp\\idlwave" or
"C:/xemacs-packages/lisp/idlwave".
Now I still need to get the Fortran language support going. Something
about
a nil pointer. Must look this up again ...
