I don't see this problem here. When I run (for example):

IDL> XObjView, /Test

... and I choose the File menu item "Print..." and I am using a *color*
PostScript printer driver, it creates a color PostScript file just as I
want.

(as well, the File menu item "Export Image..." saves a very nice color image
file, if that's of any help)
