some places (usually ones with lotsa big computey-type machines) don't allow you to do that
(here for example) so...

thusly, can't do it. Wouldn't surprise me if GSFC was a place where the sysadmins rule this
option out. (I was talking to a sysadmin the other day that had a PC hacked into *while* she
was building linux on it! Man.)
