David,
Uh, graduated but no diploma. Stupid Liberal Arts :) [in school part time]
Not that it matters cause a person can expirence the grind working in all
sorts of jobs. Some people think working for yourself is more rewarding
because you make the decisions, but I think working for a corporation [Its
employees are responsible for its sucess, even though those at the top are
held more responsible and if the corporation fails then they have a hard
time also] and being at the top is more rewarding. I am working full time at
something that is interesting, but not what I really want to do for more
than a year.
My point, and sorry to get off on a tangent, was that money was a
meaningless social construction that causes more strife than good. If it
didn't exist then your problem of feeling guilty about spending time on
something that you found interesting [otherwise you wouldn't have taken the
time] and not on what ever consulting work you had would be alleviated. I
also tried to point out that when working for a corporation you don't feel
as guilty at futzing around because of the more relaxed pay structure versus
a consultant. I am sure you are aware of this, but my real motive was to
offer my fantasized view of a better society.
