demo versions of both the point-and-click and command line versions of
PV-WAVE. Their address is

We use IDL on the Cosmic Background Explorer project at NASA and are
currently testing out PV-WAVE. They are so similar that it is hard to
state categorically that one is better than the other either for I/O or
anything else. Both run under Motif and can be integrated with C
programs, at least under VMS (I believe that IDL does not support that
under Unix).
