Yes, well, this works (with the default font):
window & XYOUTS, 0.1, 0.5, /Normal, CharSize=6.0,'!3'+STRING(197B)+'!x'

But with a fancy font it does not work:
window & XYOUTS, 0.1, 0.5, /Normal, CharSize=6.0,'!6'+STRING(197B)+'!x'
