Hi Ronald,
A good starting point would be the IDL Advanced Developers Guide (ADG) which
is in the standard on-line documentation set. This has some examples . Also,
Ron Kling has written a book on linking with IDL that worked nicely for me
in C - can't recall if it covered FORTRAN.
I just did a quick search on Google and there are some old newsgroup
articles that will also help. Try:
