question regarding "surface" command [message #357]

Is there a way to do a surface plot but have the lines drawn only along
the horizontal x-axis, rather than along the line of sight (as results
from setting the HORIZONTAL keyword)? In other words, I want to see the
same result you get from using "threed" but with three axes instead of two.
