Hi all,

I found Liams Article
http://groups.google.de/groups?q=display_name+group:comp.lan g.idl-pvwave+group:comp.lang.idl-pvwave&hl=de&lr=&am p;ie=UTF-8&selm=b1m9mt%24rgg%241%40news.doit.wisc.edu&am p;rnum=3

and have some more questions.

If I start the example from Liam on a linux box and I already know a windows
machine which runs a xserver. Is it possible to redirect the display to the
windows xserver?

base = widget_base(display_name='mybox.nowhere.org:0')
text = widget_text(base, value='Hello world')
widget_control, base, /realize

I read another thread from 2001
http://groups.google.de/groups?q=display_name+group:comp.lan g.idl-pvwave+group:comp.lang.idl-pvwave&hl=de&lr=&am p;ie=UTF-8&selm=9pv847%24fi1%241%40news.rsinc.com&rn um=1

I am not sure if I understand this right. So what is the reason why I can't
create a Direct Graphics window on the non-default Display. If I use ssh -X
then I am not sitting in front of the machine where the widget is running.
What is the meaning of non-default Display?

regards

Reimar
