By the way, I forgot to say that I am using IDL 6.0 on a
Red Hat 8.0 linux with 128 Mb of RAM (a 650 MHz CPU). I
don't know if this has to do with the error but in case
it can help trace the origin of the error.

I have exited and restarted IDL but the error still gets
there. Another thing is that at some stage, the ICONTOUR
gets stuck and nothing in IDL works. In order to do anything
I need to kill the IDL process and restart everything again.
