Hmm, now I have to confess, it may be my start up script...

If I just say "idl", it is robust. Ditto "nice idl $WU_LIB/START".

BUt when I put "nice idl $WU_LIB/START" into a script and run the
script, it becomes ctrl-c sensitive. How odd. But probably not
idl's fault.
