I do not want to sound rude, but I am starting to wonder whether you are
using the right software package for your purpose. With IDL you WILL HAVE TO
do some programming yourself which requires actually reading some of the
user guides, book and tutorials you were directed to in other posts. If you
are not willing to do this you might want to try Origin, Sigmaplot, Surfer,
IGOR, or any of the other software packages that do not require programming.
