Sorry, but that doesn't work. Finally I found the problem.
Working with GDM as started and GNOME the files to modify are:
/etc/environment - For all users
~/.gnomerc - To define user variables.

I put my IDL_PATH into .gnomerc restart XWindow and all is fine.
