Looks like I'm too late to influence your decision, but I switched
to subversion from CVS about 1 year ago and its been great. Many
improvements over CVS. I suggest it instead.
Whichever you use, a nice wrapper like Trac, webCVS, etc. can make
it easy to see whats going on. I think Trac supports CVS, if not, it
will in an upcoming release.
