This seems a bit heavy handed but you can edit the hostname (SERVER) in
your license.dat file.

If you have static addressing, then you could just create 3 files (work,
home, none) and write a little script that renames the license.dat file
appropriately then launches IDL.

The robust solution would be to write a script that inserts your
hostname into the license.dat file and then launches IDL. Probably
quite simple. You could use sed or awk.

Maybe I am missing something. It's been a long time since I dealt with
node locked licenses on UNIX...
