IDL 6.2 on a FC4 (Stentz) box works fine with the above commands.

** Structure !VERSION, 8 tags, length=76, data length=76:
ARCH STRING 'x86'
OS STRING 'linux'
OS_FAMILY STRING 'unix'
OS_NAME STRING 'linux'
RELEASE STRING '6.2'
BUILD_DATE STRING 'Jun 20 2005'
MEMORY_BITS INT 32
FILE_OFFSET_BITS
INT 64

Linux hostname.domain 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4smp #1 SMP
Thu Jun 2 23:08:39 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Is it TV which is broken or just graphics in general? Try the command
"window" and see if that crashes.

Thanks,

Allan
