Currently, you cannot modify the list of items in the variables view--it
shows all variables for the current frame. But, a variable "watch"
view is on our list of things to do. This view will allow you to
control what you want to watch by adding items to the view yourself.

(I'm not in a position to give any promises of release date.)

For now, you could perhaps create a temporary pointer--at the command
line during debugging--to point at the item of interest, and call the
temp ptr something like AAAA so that it appears at the top of the list,
for easy finding. I know this not ideal.
