My two cents:

If you want an output file for publications - do DG and postscript.
(amazingly this is what I almost exclusively do)

If you want interactive plots - with a user changing the view etc,
(especially with surface plots) then use OG.

It sounds like you want to just look at a batch of data up on the screen,
I'd go with a quick dirty DG.
