Assuming you are talking about IDL savesets for the Waves instrument on
the Wind spacecraft <http://www-lep.gsfc.nasa.gov/waves/>, restoring a
file returns a couple of variables that you process with other code.
See <http://www-lep.gsfc.nasa.gov/waves/doc1min.html>.

Better is to get plots and listings or combined CDF files from
<http://cdaweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/cdaweb/istp_public> under Wind (wi_h0_wav
(High Resolution Electron Density), wi_h1_wav (Normalized Receiver
Voltages), wi_k0_wav (3 min electric field intensities)). The original
data are in CDF form at <ftp://cdaweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/istp/wind/>.

Use the IDL library <ftp://cdaweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/CDAWlib> to use the
CDF files.
