Thanks for this. After modifying my .Xdefaults file in the
way you specify, I do indeed see text on my widgets, thank
goodness. But my system administrator would like very much
to know which package updates you applied to OpenSUSE 11 to
get the fonts to work without this .Xdefaults trick.
