Yeah, plainly spoken, the user contributed library website sucks since
they overhauled their entire portal in August. I complained at that
time to ITTVIS that the previous site was way better, but received no
answer. Some months later, in October, a colleague of mine who holds
50 ENVI licenses complained again, specifically about the lack of
redirectioning for the old links (which happen to be cited in some
scientific journals), the disappearance of the summary info that
described each contribution and made easier to navigate the library;
the reset of the information tracking the no. of downloads; and the
funky search window, which instead of returning results would ask you
to 'add a new item'.

He received immediate response with the best intentions to resolve all
these problems, and a very convincing explanation about the source of
the problems (that they tried to implement a google search mechanism
for the web site, but it kept crashing on them). After two months,
they have apparently solved the search issue, but the rest continues
in a state that does not foster its usage or the addition of new
contributions. Probably our only hope is that a military guy holding a
big contract complains…
