I have the same problems on my new Fedora 10
(2.6.27.7-134.fc10.i686.PAE #1)

I have never managed to have a successful IDL 7 installation on these
Linux machines. There is always some problems occur. Either display
driver issues, or Java errors, or something else.

Please let us know if you get any progress.
