hum, you bring a very good point here... I am very surprised indeed!

uname returns: Linux, x86_64
In IDL (with JMB trick): print, !version:
--> {x86_64 linux unix linux 7.0.8 Feb 9 2009 64 64}

at the prompt: idl -32
--> exec: 617: /usr/local/itt/idl708/bin/bin.linux.x86/idl: not found

weird....

Let's see what Brandon from ITTVIS says about that!!
