I have seen this happen on some of our old Macs, but we are retiring them so I
haven't tried to fix it. They may have an older version of IDL installed. Network
logins are currently bollixed up, so I can't login to check.
It might be time to upgrade to IDL 7.
The only problem I have currently is when running with multiple monitors. IDL
and X work, but IDL spews floating point errors when I move the mouse in
a window that has been dragged from one monitor to another.
