I have several reasons for this:
* I don't know where the next interesting eruption will take place.
Unprojected will allow for another reprojection later on (but this
time completely within IDL, Python, ...) without special coding.
* I need to combine several instruments, and using unprojected data as
an intermediate for hte instrument with the highest spatial resolution
helps me here.
* I may want to plot the final result with a different tool
altogether.

Best,

Maarten
