I guess I need more information. I just ran the Coyote
Library routine Select_Objects, which uses a VColorbar
object, in IDL 8 on my Windows machine and it ran fine.

Are you sure you are finding the right program?

IDL> Print, File_Which('vcolorbar__define.pro')
