In my recollection, the Old Old google groups was fantastic. You could
always find everything with a simple search, and it had a great archive. I
think that was back in the day when it used to be DejaNews, and google took
it over. Back then, you could even get a newsgroup listing, and go through
the alt., comp., rec., hierarchies.
