Thanks, but when I follow that example (without the dimension etc.)
GrADS reports:
ga-> sdfopen test_grads_file.nc
Scanning self-describing file: test_grads_file.nc
gadsdf: SDF file has no discernable X coordinate.

If you could paste an example that does work, that would be great.
