You want just alternation (parens), no character classes (square
brackets) in the LLC|KGD|GFC|FFC choice:

IDL> searchStr = '^G[DS]P1_XXX__(LLC|KGD|GFC|FFC)_'
IDL> print, stregex(name, searchStr, /boolean) ; Not Match
