Hello, I am getting an error message from a code that is used for curve fitting. This code is not part of the IDL. It is a code that I have obtained from somewhere else. But the problem is that when I add more than a certain number of terms to the fitting function (which is supposed to be a really long string with possibly thousands of characters) The code stops working and the content of the error message is that there is something wrong with the function, although I know that for example up to 37 terms it has been working fine and now I am getting the error at the 38th term, while nothing is inherently different between the new term and the previous terms. So I am suspecting that it has something to do with the length of the string after adding the 38th term. I was wondering if there is string length limit in IDL and if it can be manipulated, in case there is such a limit. Thank you. Payam
