Hi,

I basically have the same problem, but since this question was first asked/answered in 2004, I was wondering whether there is a native IDL function available now to make this kind of plot. I also ran hist_2d, but have been trying use IMAGE to make the plot, but it's not working. (The array is 20x20, so the plot comes out tiny no matter what I do.)
