Yes, well, if you would write an Amazon review
testifying to this fact, it might go a long way
toward convincing other people that this work
is worth supporting. As it is, I'm eyeballing the
new Starbucks store going up in my neighborhood
as a possible source of employment. It's just
about the only way I can afford a latte. :-(

Cheers,

David

BUUUT you know, whenever we have got any problem we refer back to your
book. The only source we can trust.

Indeed, but when I see people writing code like the
TEST_LEGEND program on the newsgroup earlier this
morning, I am thrown into despair all over again. :-(

I am not sure I understand the question. Is your
question what version of IDL did I use to run the
examples in the book? If so, the answer is IDL 7.1.
IDL 8.0 and 8.0.1 were out when I wrote the book,
but they would crash about every 10 minutes on
average on my machine, so I used the older version
to check the code.

The code in the book should work on any version of
IDL from IDL 6.3 (and maybe earlier) to IDL 8.1.

Cheers,

David
