Before I try to do it myself, does anyone have IDL code to read a Python numpy save (.npy) file? (The Numpy save format is documented at
https://github.com/numpy/numpy/blob/master/numpy/lib/format. py )
Or perhaps it will be easier for me to get the Slither DLL working to call Python from IDL?

Yes I guess so. I recently managed to read the content of Matlab files
in IDL using python's SciPy and Slighter in a couple of minutes.

Cheers,

Fab
