the picture from Plot.save can just be 96dpi. The resolution keyword is useful-less [message #88692]

Hi all,
I tried to use IDL to export my image result as pictures using plot.save(image.save). But the resolution of result picture always is 96dpi no matter how I change the resolution keyword. Anyone can help?

David Fanning wrote something about this a while ago, but I cannot seem to find it. You can find examples of a fix in his plot gallery, e.g. at the end of this page

Basically, you create a giant image, then resize it.
