Sorry, If this is not appropriate to post here.

I seem to can not find tips on how to install IDL 8.5.1 on Ubuntu 16.04. Several
missing library and instruction from harrisgeospatial.com web site is simply useless.

for eg. missing libXp.so.6 for 64 bit Ubuntu 16.04.

Thanks

On Ububtu 15.10, I copied the missing libraries from OpenSuSE 13.1 and it worked.

Thank you Richard.

However those links from harrisgeospecial web site are not working on Ubuntu 16.04 64 bits. Ok on Ubuntu 12 LTS.

And once again NIH web site comes to the rescue, I found instruction from NIH NIFTI web support

https://afni.nimh.nih.gov/afni/community/board/read.php?1,15 1673,151693#msg-151693

The instruction is excellent and I managed to build libXp library successfully for Ubuntu 16.04.
