How to supress dialog popup when netcdf file is corrupt? [message #93751] Wed, 12 October 2016 10:52

I'm running some code on a server that doesn't have an X-window.

It's all working fine apart from that I have a couple of files (out of 1000s) that seem to be corrupt and give a netcdf error when trying to read them.

I've used CATCH to skip those files that are a problem but that still involves attempting to read it in which then brings up the dialog prompt (which then crashes IDL as there's no X-window).

Can I suppress the dialog prompt somehow and make the netcdf read fail nicely?

Thanks!
