Hello,
I have a problem calling an external shared library under HP-UX and
IDL Version 5.3 (hp-ux hp_pa). (c) 1999, Research Systems, Inc.
The message is:
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Call to mmap() failed - TEXT
/IDL/pro_src/RODENA/rod/hp-ux/up_share.so
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Permission denied
% CALL_EXTERNAL: Error loading sharable executable.
Symbol: c_watershed, File =
/IDL/pro_src/RODENA/rod/hp-ux/up_share.so
...
I don't know what could have been changed causing this error.

Help came from another HP-UX user.
The problem was caused by a nasty file mode combination of the sharable library:
(rw-r--r-x) where I was user (rw-).
