I spent some time a few years ago trying to translate the FORTRAN Numerical
Recipes version of MEM spectral analysis into IDL code, but I never could get
it to give the same results as the FORTRAN version. It shouldn't be that
difficult for a skilled programmer, which obviously I'm not (or wasn't). If
you find anything let us know - maybe I'll have another go at it. I used MEM
in my MS thesis research on Milankovitch cycles in lake sediments.
