Sure I bet. Oh well I guess it scores a 50% success rate then (n=2)

I have used the IDLDE on Windows 2000 for several months
now and I have *never* known IDL to crash. Before that,
I used the IDLDE on Windows NT and I have never known
it to crash. (Although once I had to crash it when I
accidentally got myself into an infinite loop with a
Catch statement.) I always use a HASP. (Wow, I had
to be careful with that last sentence.)

I guess it goes without saying that I do really,
really simple things in IDL. :-)

Cheers,

David

W2K has only blue screened me twice, and in those cases the motherboard was
dying. The IDL "crashes" I refer to are just application exceptions, which
just kill off that app. However I'm curious now as I have had this problem
with many windows machines - So lets do a Poll:

Who else out there has noted IDL crashing while clicking from one panel to
another in the win-IDE, and if so : roughly how often, and do you use HASP
or software licence?

cheers,

Martin

IDL 5.3, 5.4, 5.5 + Win2k + HASP(home) and software (office)

The only problem I have ever had with IDL and Win2k was because of beta
video drivers. Otherwise no problems with Win2k and IDLDE . IDL and win98
and sloppy object programming? Don't even ask...

Win98SE and Win95 with HASP, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4. Never crashed so I cannot
even blame Bill for my programs not working for other users :-(
