Hi!
I want to use the function CALL_EXTERNAL to call code written in C. I
have a lot of input and output actions with printf and i want these to
be performed by IDL. In the external development guide they say to use
IDL_Message,but i just donï¿½t know how.Itï¿½s defined at export.h but i
cannot find it. I kow this might sound as a stupid question, but iï¿½m
just a student. Is there an easy way to perform input and output with a
C code?

You should read Ronn Klings book.

There are a lot of examples by Call_external by C and IDl described,
