I presently have a V5.6 license server running on a Macintosh.
It is serving (via FlexLM) Macintosh, Windows and Linux computers.
It is accessed using

LM_LICENSE_FILE being set to 1700@server_name

I have some users that want to move to V6.0.

Do I have to upgrade the license server to do this?

Can I just give the license server a new license.dat file (for V6.0)?

Will FlexLM V5.6 work with a V6.0 license.dat file?

I do not really want to upgrade the server at this time.
It took me long eneough to figure out the FlexLM startup process
under V5.6.

Any thoughts appreciated.
