I am doing a assignment, the image is 16-bit( 0-(2^16)-1), I use tvscl
commond to display the image, but seems not ideal, is there someone
who can give me the idea? Thank you!

Often 16-bit images are "windowed and leveled", meaning
you allow the user to select the center (level) and
extent (window) of the data to be scaled into 256 values
for display:
