Frustrated with IDL? Want to smash its head in?
Try the following:

IDL> device,_extra=0

That'll teach it. And give the shell a good thrashing too for being so
bold as to run IDL in the first place.

Ah, joy....... :-)

(Above for IDL 3.6 under SunOS, Solaris, at least)
