Greetings,
Has anyone run into code to interface IDL with the HTTP protocol?
That is to say open a HTTP connection and read data from it?
I saw a thread asking about TCP/IP and this I figure would be related.
I come at this from a Java/C background so please forgive me if its a
bad question.
As background. I have a Java servlet which collects images (gif, jpg,
etc) from around the net and resizes them to fit a client side
spreadsheet.
The trouble is the Java resize is quite slow and processor intense. The
same process in IDL is actually quite smooth. I could use ION and pass
the java
data stream in to IDL but it would be much cleaner just to pass URL's an
have IDL handle the data direct.
Thanks as usual,
Eric Kihn
