Hm -for the most people (me too) reinstallation is much more faster
then searching a long time in registry files.
For a few months I got a lot of problems using a HP4000 printerdriver
for Win NT 40. After installation it was never possible
to print to a local port of the computer. I tried myself a lot of tricks
to get it work, but unfortunately there was no success.
With the newest printerdriver after a complete reinstallation it works
all fine (takes about 3 hours if no PQ image is available).
It's not only Windows which will make the problems.
We have a lot of Win NT 40 Workstations using IDL and they are all
stable - very stable.
I can't remember myself when my machine last was crashed instead of an
application.
I don't also remember when my UNIX aix machines was last crashed but a
lot of time IDL crashed by a coredump.
By a failure of this kind a reboot will not give any better result.
