LOST SOURCE CODE [message #1404]

I'm running IDL 3.1.2 under Windows 3.1.
Sometimes when I compile, I get a GENERAL PROTECTION ERROR. This in itself
wouldn't have been too bad, except that whenever that happens I lose the
source code of the file I was compiling.

Is there some way of automatically making a backup before it compiles?
