XPALETTE and TEK_COLOR on windows 98 platform [message #18235]

hello all: has anyone noticed problems with the procedures xpalette and
tek_color on the windows 98 platform? xpalette simply fails to display
colors, always using the grey scale palette in the display. tek_color
simply loads a red palette into the color table. I would really like to use
the colors available in tek_color. do any of you idl gurus out there have a
fix or suggestion?
