Assuming you are using !p.multi, what I usually do is something like

nplots = !p.multi*!p.multi
for i=...

; create plot

if (!p.multi[0] mod nplots) eq (nplots-1) then $
xyouts,0.5,0.99,title,/norm,align=0.5

endfor

(offhand, I'm not 100% sure whether to use (nplots-1) or 0 here, but at
least that
should give you an idea)
