I am curious if any of you have used the mapping routines in IDL. More
specifically, has anyone tackled the challenge of drawing a USA map and
then doing some sort of polyfill to color in each state with a different
color?
IDL seems to draw state borders in *many* segments; first the most complex
borders and finishes up with simple (linear) borders. I have no problems
drawing the baseline map using MAP_SET, just more curious about the color
polyfills of the states. Is this an uphill battle?
