The PROFILER at least gives information about the time spent in
routines:

IDL> profiler, /system
IDL> for i = 0, 9 do $
IDL> foo = smooth( rebin( randomu( seed, 100, 100 ), 200, 200 ), 5 )
IDL> profiler, /report
